Eating – Gringo Bandito Hot Sauce

As a self proclaimed hot sauce super fan – yes it’s a thing – I’ve tried may sauces from various countries and spice levels. When Gringo Bandito sent samples of their Red, Green, and Super Hot sauces to try, I was pretty excited. While the brand is available at many major retailers, I found that they’re also sold on Amazon!

Gringo Bandito started 10 years ago by the singer of punk band The Offspring. Since then, the brand has grown from a modest hobby to having a global presence and one of the top rated hot sauces on Amazon.

Let’s start with Super Hot, because I like really hot sauces. It’s made with a natural blend of Jolokia Ghost Peppers and Scorpion Peppers. I have a decent tolerance for spice and it found it manageable, just a notch over Sriracha in spice level.

The green sauce is made with unripened jalapenos. I found it to be just a tad spicy, more tangy and sour than spicy. It’s a good one to layer with other sauces since it’s not too strong on its own.

Original Red struck a good balance between the mildness of green and Super Hot. It’s probably the one I’ve eaten the most because it gave my food just a kick without being overpowering.

If you’re looking to mix up your hot sauce pantry, I suggest trying the Gringo Bandito trio. It’s a quality hot sauce that can easily be a staple in the household, like Tapatio, Tabasco, and Cholula.
